Some people plan to spend more on football this year - because of Taylor Swift

However, one unexpected factor has been driving significant interest and spending: Taylor Swift, girlfriend of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
A recent survey by Lending Tree revealed that 14% of Americans plan to spend more on the NFL this season because of Swift's influence. Her relationship with Kelce has attracted new fans to the league, especially among younger demographics.
The survey also found that 17% of Americans are more interested in football this season due to Swift's presence. This has led to increased sales of Chiefs merchandise, particularly Kelce's jersey, which saw a 400% surge after her first game attendance.
While Swift's impact has been largely positive, 17% of Americans reported being less interested in football because of her association with the sport. This highlights the divisive nature of her influence, with some fans embracing her while others resent her intrusion into the football world.
